This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu was fitted with a 383ci V8 crate engine, a six-speed manual transmission, and an Auburn Positraction differential as part of a build completed under previous ownership in the mid-2010s. It is finished in metallic blue and features polished 14″ Cragar wheels, power-assisted drum brakes, and power steering as well as a dual exhaust system with electrically controlled cutouts. Inside, the front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in Aqua vinyl and accompanied by a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, and a retrofitted digital media receiver. Acquired by the seller in 2022, this Chevelle Malibu is now offered in Quogue, New York, with partial build records and transferable New York State registration in the name of the seller’s son.
The car left the factory finished in Tuxedo Black (900) and was repainted in its current metallic blue finish under previous ownership. SS-style badging has been added, and further details include quad headlights, dual side mirrors, quarter vent windows, and chrome bumpers. A portion of the seller’s photos were taken in November 2023.
The polished 14″ Cragar wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering as well as a front and rear coil-spring suspension, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted front and rear drums.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in Aqua vinyl, which extends to the door and side panels. A retrofitted digital media receiver is installed in the factory radio location, and a fire extinguisher is affixed to the central tunnel between the front seats. Further details include a cabin heater, a lighted glove box, and lap belts for four occupants.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames is paired with a floor-mounted Hurst shifter and fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and a combination gauge. A Sun Super Tach II tachometer is mounted to the steering column, and a trio of Sunpro auxiliary gauges has been added below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 91k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 383ci V8 crate engine was sourced from Pace Performance and installed under previous ownership. It was assembled utilizing a BluePrint Engines long block and features aluminum cylinder heads along with a 750-CFM Holley carburetor and four-into-one exhaust headers. The Edelbrock intake manifold is finished in satin black along with the air cleaner housing and valve covers, and a Griffin aluminum radiator has been added up front.
