This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu coupe was modified and refurbished under previous ownership before being recently acquired by the selling dealer in Florida. The car is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 mated to a 4L85E four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in red with black stripes over red leather upholstery. Equipment includes an Art Morrison chassis, staggered-diameter Budnik wheels, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, Strange Engineering adjustable coilovers, power-adjustable bucket seats, a Classic Auto Air climate control system, power windows, and a Kenwood stereo system. This modified Chevelle is now offered by the selling dealer in Florida with instruction manuals and a clean Ohio title.
The body is said to have been removed from the frame and repainted in the current shade of red with black stripes before being placed on a replacement Art Morrison chassis. Additional equipment includes chrome-finished bumpers, an SS grille, dual mirrors, “SS” and “Supercharged LSA” badging, and polished dual exhaust outlets.
Chrome-finished Budnik wheels measure 18″ in the front and 19″ in the rear and are mounted with staggered-width Goodyear Eagle Sport tires. The car is equipped with Strange Engineering adjustable coilovers, and braking is handled by four-wheel Wilwood calipers over slotted and vented rotors.
Power-adjustable front bucket seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in red leather with ostrich inserts are joined by a matching dashboard, headliner, and door panels. Additional equipment includes a custom center console, a Classic Auto Air climate control system, power windows, lap belts, and a double-din touchscreen Kenwood head unit.
The Budnik steering wheel frames a Dakota Digital speedometer, tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, battery voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 39 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 is equipped with a modified air intake and Dirty Dingo Motorsports accessory brackets as well as a body-color supercharger cover, alternator housing, and valve covers. Additional equipment includes an aluminum radiator, a replacement fuel tank, and a custom exhaust system with tubular headers and fabricated piping. An oil change was performed in anticipation of the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4L85E four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
The reproduction VIN tag uses an “I” in place of a “1” for the sixth digit, and the car is titled in Ohio using the correct VIN sequence 136371R129658.
