This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS sport coupe was produced at GM’s Baltimore, Maryland facility and purchased by the late husband of the current owner in 2012. A color change to blue was performed during previous ownership, and the car is equipped with a replacement 396ci V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission. Further updates have included front disc brakes, 15″ wheels, aftermarket sway bars, and a modern stereo unit. This Chevelle SS is offered on dealer consignment with spare parts and a clean Michigan title.
The body was originally Ermine White (C2) according to the cowl tag, and it was repainted with a color change in its current blue finish with a black vinyl roof during prior ownership. Additional modifications include LED side markers and taillights as well as aftermarket headlight bulbs. Corrosion is noted in the trunk, and bubbling is present along the driver-side rocker panel and the rear fender, as depicted in the gallery below.
American Racing wheels measure 15″ and are equipped with a staggered-width set of BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires in sizes 215/65 up front and 235/60 at the rear. Suspension updates are said to include thicker-diameter sway bars and upgraded bushings, while four-wheel disc brakes are utilized at all four corners.
Bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl (766) accompanied by a color-keyed dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. A smaller-diameter steering wheel has been installed, and further additions include a billet steering column as well as a Retrosound stereo housed within the stock radio opening and linked to a pair of aftermarket rear speakers.

Originally equipped with a 350-horsepower 396ci V8, the car now features a replacement 396ci that is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The engine stamping shown within the gallery includes the suffix LB, which corresponds with a 325-horsepower 396 from the 1965 model year. Features include an aluminum intake manifold, Holley valve covers, and a Champion aluminum radiator. An oil service was completed in preparation for the sale.
