This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu wagon was acquired by the seller in 1991 and has since been fitted with a 396ci V8 mated to a TH400 automatic transmission and a 3.0:1 Ford 9″ rear end. The car has been refurbished in red over black and tan upholstery, and additional modifications made under the seller’s ownership include power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, Hotchkis front suspension, front and rear sway bars, 17″ Rally wheels, an aluminum radiator, relocation of the battery, a power-operated rear window, AutoMeter gauges,  and more. Approximately 3k miles have been covered since completion of the work according to the seller. This first-year Malibu wagon is offered with build receipts and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The exterior brightwork and radio antenna were removed and their mounting holes were filled prior to a 2012 repaint in red. New weatherstripping was installed following the paintwork. Features include a factory grille, a driver-side mirror, and a powered window in the bottom-hinged tailgate.

Painted 17″ rally-style wheels wear Chevrolet Motor Division center caps and Kumho Ecsta ASX tires. Power-assisted disc brakes have been installed at all four wheels under the seller’s ownership, and suspension modifications include a Hotchkis front end as well as front and rear sway bars. The parking brake has been removed and the windshield wipers are inoperative.

The interior has been reupholstered in black and tan vinyl with a matching headliner, carpets, and door panels. Behind the factory steering wheel is a gold-painted dash with a silver instrument panel housing a suite of AutoMeter gauges. Just over 200 miles are shown on the odometer, and 3k miles have reportedly been added under the seller’s ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The radio has been removed and the heater core disconnected due to a leak.

The replacement 396ci V8 was installed in 2012, while additional underhood modifications include an Edelbrock intake manifold, Moroso headers, an MSD distributor, and an aluminum radiator. The battery has been relocated to the rear, and new wiring has been installed according to the seller.
