The car left the factory finished in Matador Red (RR) and reportedly was repainted under prior ownership. Features include Z/28 badging, white stripes, front and rear spoilers, chrome bumpers and trim, and a driver-side mirror.

Silver-finished 15″ Rally wheels wear chrome hubcaps and beauty rings and are wrapped in Goodyear Wide Tread GT tires that are said to have been fitted recently. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums that reportedly were replaced under current ownership. Additional work has included replacing the shocks, ball joints, and suspension bushings as well as fitting a quick-ratio steering box. The removed steering box is included in the sale.

The cabin features front bucket and rear bench seats trimmed in red vinyl along with a matching dash, door panels, and carpeting. Appointments include lap belts, woodgrain trim, red rubber floor mats, and a Delco push-button AM radio. The dome light is inoperable.

A red-trimmed steering wheel fronts a column-mounted Sunpro tachometer, and factory instrumentation consists of a tachometer with an inset clock, a 120-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges housed in the console. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership. The factory tachometer is disconnected, and the clock is inaccurate. The seller notes that the removed walnut wood-rimmed steering wheel as well as a quartz clock conversion kit will accompany the vehicle.

The numbers-matching 302ci V8 is said to have been refreshed under prior ownership and is equipped with plenum air induction, a Holley 800cfm carburetor, Pertronix electronic ignition, heavy-duty pushrods, and replacement rocker arms. An oil change and coolant flush were performed in preparation for the sale.

Engine-stamping sequence 8N363473 matches the last eight characters of the vehicle’s chassis number. Additional casting numbers and stamps are pictured in the gallery below. The Protect-O-Plate shown in the gallery lists the vehicle’s chassis number with the last two digits transposed.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a replacement Muncie M-22 four-speed manual transmission and a rebuilt 12-bolt rear axle with a Richmond ring-and-pinion 3.73:1 gearset. Recent service included transmission and differential fluid changes.
