This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe was acquired by the seller in 2021, and subsequent refurbishment work consisted of repairing rust, refinishing the body, rebuilding the engine, overhauling the brakes and suspension, and reupholstering the interior. The car is finished in green with black stripes over black vinyl upholstery, and power is provided by a 307ci V8 mated to a three-speed TH350 automatic transmission. Equipment includes a black vinyl roof covering, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, 14″ SS-style wheels, a dual exhaust system, and an aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo. The body left the factory finished in Antique Green (49) and is said to have been repainted under current ownership. The cabin features front and rear bench seats reupholstered in black vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, polished door sills, front headrests, lap belts, Chevelle-branded rubber floor mats, and an aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 7k miles, approximately 30 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 307ci V8 was reportedly rebuilt in 2021 with replacement parts including the piston rings, bearings, seals, cylinder head bolts, valve springs, and lifters as well as the camshaft and timing chain set.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear axle. An aftermarket dual exhaust system has been installed.
