This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle sport coupe was acquired by the seller in 2014 and subsequently refurbished with work that consisted of replacing the trunk lid, fenders, floor panels, and front suspension components along with repainting the body in red and installing a replacement 350ci V8 and three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes black center stripes, 15″ Weld Racing wheels, power steering and brakes, chrome trim, front and rear bench seats, Bosch auxiliary gauges, and a Delco AM radio. This Chevelle is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a Protect-O-Plate, service records, spare parts, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.
The trunk lid, fenders, and floor panels were reportedly replaced before the car was repainted under current ownership in red with black center stripes. Features include side mirrors, a red front bumper and taillight panel, a cowl induction hood, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome trim on the window surrounds and wheel arches. The headlights and associated wiring were replaced in August 2022. The seller notes the windshield is cracked.
Weld Racing 15″ polished wheels wear 225/75 Definite Dakota H/T tires up front and 275/60 Super Sport Futura tires out back. Equipment includes power steering and power-assisted brakes. The front suspension was reportedly rebuilt under current ownership.
The front and rear bench seats were reupholstered in red vinyl under current ownership and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Additional equipment includes seat belts for four occupants, manually operated windows, a glovebox, polished door sills, and a Delco push-button AM radio. The rear seat backrest is missing.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel level gauge, and warning indicators. Two Bosch gauges mounted beneath the dashboard display oil pressure and coolant temperature. The fuel level gauge was wired in August 2022. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 was reportedly installed in 2022 and is equipped with a chrome air cleaner cover and valve covers. Work completed in August 2022 consisted of replacing the spark plug wires and battery, and changing the oil.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission. The rear axle ring and pinion gears were replaced in August 2022 along with their associated bearings.
