This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe was originally delivered to Bell Chevrolet Company of Cut Bank, Montana and was modified in the mid-2000s with a built 427ci V8 that was reportedly sourced from Keith Black Racing Engines and mated to a Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential with 4.11:1 gearing. The car has been repainted black over black vinyl upholstery, and additional equipment includes an aluminum radiator, a Holley Quick Fuel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, bucket seats, a Hurst shifter, four-wheel disc brakes, a dual exhaust system, and 15” steel wheels. This Chevelle was acquired by the current owner in March 2022 and is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature, an NCRS Shipping Data Report, and a clean Oregon title.

Finished from the factory in Sequoia Green (V), the car received a two-stage repaint in its current shade of black in the mid-2000s. A Super Sport-style hood is installed. The seller notes paint chips on a front fender, paint crazing around the passenger door handle, and imperfections on the passenger-side quarter panel near the door. The windshield wiper switch and back-up lights are inoperable, the door locks do not have keys, and the windshield wipers have been removed

Black-finished 15” steel wheels wear bright hubcaps and are mounted with Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T tires that show date codes from 2015 and are sized 215/70 up front and 255/60 out back. A full-size spare is found in the trunk. Braking is via four-wheel discs with cross-drilled and slotted rear rotors, and the car rides on Bilstein shocks.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench that have been reupholstered in black vinyl, along with color-coordinated carpets and rubber mats. The car is equipped with a Hurst shifter and lap belts for front occupants.

A three-spoke steering wheel with an SS center cap sits ahead of a column-mounted Sun Super Tach II 8k-rpm tachometer and factory instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 37k miles, around 2k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 427ci V8 was reportedly built by Keith Black Racing Engines and installed in the mid-2000s, and it is equipped with tubular headers, an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, a Holley Quick Fuel carburetor mounted to an Edelbrock Tarantula intake, and polished ancillary components. The seller states that the car is additionally fitted with Chevrolet 3919840 high-performance cylinder heads and Crower roller rockers.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie M21 four-speed manual gearbox with a scatter shield bellhousing and a 10-bolt rear end housing a Positraction differential with 4.11:1 gearing.
