This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is finished in Matador Red with white stripes over a red interior and powered by a 302ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 15″ rally wheels, a Holley carburetor, a smog pump, power-assisted front disc brakes, a dual exhaust system, front and rear spoilers, a Hurst shifter, and a Delco push-button AM radio. The car was acquired by the owner in 2012 and was subsequently refurbished with work including a repaint, metalwork, an interior refresh, and suspension and brake system service. This Z/28 is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a car cover, a Classic Auto report, and a clean Arizona title.
The body was originally finished in Matador Red and the rear quarter panels are said to have been replaced before the car was repainted. Details include white stripes, a chrome driver-side mirror, front and rear spoilers, Z/28 badging, dual exhaust outlets, and bright-finished trim.
Silver-painted 15″ Rally wheels wear chrome trim rings with hubcaps and are mounted with E70-15 Goodyear Wide Tread GT tires with raised white lettering. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in red with a matching dash, door panels, and carpeting. Additional interior appointments include lap belts, faux wood trim on the dash, manual windows, a Hurst shift lever, red rubber floor mats, and a push-button AM radio.
The red three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and fuel gauge. A Stewart-Warner oil pressure gauge is mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer indicates 60k miles, a handful of which have been added by the seller.
The 302ci V8 features a forged steel crankshaft, domed aluminum pistons, a smog pump, and a solid-lifter camshaft from the factory along with a four-barrel carburetor on an aluminum intake manifold.
The engine code stamp ends in MO, which is consistent with a 302ci engine for use in a Z/28 for the 1968 model year. A selection of stamping images are shown in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Additional images showing the condition of the underside are included in the gallery.
