This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is said to have undergone a refurbishment approximately three decades ago and was acquired by the seller in October 1998. The car is finished in red with white center stripes and is powered by a numbers-matching 302ci V8 that was reportedly rebuilt in the last 500 miles. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, electronic ignition, a Flowmaster exhaust system, Rally Sport trim, front and rear spoilers, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The brake and fuel systems were reportedly serviced in preparation for the sale. This Camaro Z/28 RS is now offered with a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.
The car was reportedly refurbished around 30 years ago and is finished in red with white center stripes. The car is equipped with front and rear spoilers, and the Rally Sport package includes an RS grille with vacuum-operated headlight doors, bright rocker panels and wheel-well moldings, backup lamps below the rear bumper, and RS badging.
Ventilated 15” rally wheels wear chrome rings and Chevrolet hubcaps and are mounted with 235/60 Goodyear Eagle GT II tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums that are said to have been serviced in preparation for the sale. A spare is housed in the trunk.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench that are upholstered in black vinyl along with a matching dash, door panels, and carpeting. Appointments include a Delco push-button AM/FM radio, lap belts for all occupants, a locking glove compartment, rubber floor mats, and faux wood trim on the center console and stack.
A simulated-woodgrain three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and an optional Tic Toc tachometer with an inset analog clock, while auxiliary gauges are found below the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership over the past 23 years. Total mileage is unknown.
The 302ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and produced 290 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque when new. It was reportedly rebuilt around a decade ago with more modern headers and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An electronic ignition system has been installed and the fuel system was reportedly serviced in the last few months along with replacement of the brake master cylinder and brake booster. The factory headers and brake components are included in the sale, aside from the exhaust manifold.
Engine pad stamping 18N482412 matches the final eight characters of the vehicle’s chassis number shown in the gallery. The MO suffix indicates a 302ci engine used in 1968 Z/28 applications.
