This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro was reportedly acquired new by the current owner from Capitol Chevrolet in Salem, Oregon, as a high school graduation present and is finished in Butternut Yellow with a black vinyl roof over a black vinyl interior. Power is provided by a 327ci V8 mated to a two-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes a black bumblebee stripe, chrome bumpers and trim, 14” wheels, front bucket seats, and a Delco AM radio. Service since 2019 has included a transmission fluid flush, an oil change, and replacement of the radiator, spark plugs, and battery. This Camaro is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the current owner with blue Oregon license plates, service records, and a clean Oregon title.
The car is finished in Butternut Yellow (Y) with a black vinyl roof and features a black bumblebee stripe. Additional equipment includes chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and bright rocker and wheel arch trim. The seller notes that the right door shows evidence of overspray, and rust is found on the rear wheel arches and beneath the vinyl top.
Steel 14” wheels wear polished center caps and are mounted with 195/75 Marshal 791 Touring A/S tires. A spare tire with a reproduction wheel cover is stored in the trunk. Two of the wheel center caps are faded.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench that are trimmed in black vinyl along with matching door panels and woodgrain trim on the center console and dash. Amenities include GM-branded lap belts, a Delco AM radio, a locking glove compartment, and hand-crank windows. The driver’s seat shows a tear in the side bolster, and there are tears on the driver’s floor and passenger door panel carpeting.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer is believed to have rolled over and shows 26k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 327ci V8 was overhauled in 1990, while the radiator and spark plugs and wires were replaced in May 2019. An oil change was performed in November 2021, at which time the battery was also replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed automatic transmission. A transmission flush was performed in May 2019. Additional underside images are shown in the gallery.
