This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is finished in orange with a yellow pearl ghost stripe over gray and powered by a 415ci V8 paired with a five-speed Tremec TKO 600 manual transmission and a 12-bolt Moser rear axle with a 3.42:1 Eaton Truetrac differential. Features include Vintage Air climate control, electronic ignition, an RS grille and taillamps, tucked bumpers, power windows, Recaro bucket seats, and Detroit Speed mini tubs and tubular control arms as well as subframe connectors, Billet Specialties wheels, and an Alpine iPod/CD stereo with a JL Audio amplifier and speakers. The car was acquired by the seller in 2005 and subsequently modified by Campbell Automotive Restoration of Campbell California from 2005 to 2008. It was refreshed in 2013 and again in 2019 with a Dart engine block, Tremec transmission, wheel and tire installation, and a Baer brake upgrade. This Camaro is offered with refurbishment records, a 2009 Camaro Performers magazine featuring the car, refurbishment images on a CD, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was stripped and refinished in orange with a yellow pearl ghost stripe during current ownership by Campbell Automotive Restoration. Features include a steel cowl hood, shaved marker lights, tucked front and rear bumpers, an RS-style grille with concealed headlamps, front and rear spoilers, dual side mirrors, and dual-outlet exhaust that angles downward below the rear bumper. The seller notes that the quarter panels and door skins were replaced during the refurbishment.
The staggered Billet Specialties wheels have polished barrels and are mounted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires measuring 235/40/18 up front and 295/35/19 out back. Equipment includes Detroit Speed mini tubs, rear leaf springs, and tubular control arms as well as subframe connectors, Hotchkis swaybars, QA1 front shocks, VariShock rear shocks, and stainless brake lines. Braking is handled by power-assisted Baer six-piston calipers fitted over drilled and slotted 14″ rotors. The brakes, wheels, tires, and suspension are said to have been installed in 2019.
The cabin features Recaro front buckets and a rear bench upholstered in gray cloth with orange houndstooth inserts joined by a matching suede dashboard, door panels, and center console. Equipment includes Vintage Air climate control, a trunk-mounted Optima battery with a kill switch, polished door sills, two-point harnesses, and an Alpine iPod/CD stereo with a JL Audio amplifier and speakers.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a custom electronic 150-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. A quadrant of Autometer vintage-style gauges is mounted in front of the shifter in the center console. The digital odometer indicates 4k miles, all of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 415ci V8 has been fitted with a Dart engine block, aluminum cylinder heads, a custom intake manifold with fuel injection ports, ceramic-coated Lemons headers, and Accel electronic ignition. A custom aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and a custom close-out panel are installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed Tremec TKO 600 manual transmission and a 12-bolt Moser rear axle with a 3.42:1 Eaton Truetrac differential. A custom dual exhaust system with an X-pipe and Dynomax mufflers has been installed.
