This 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe is powered by a replacement LS V8 paired with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission. Finished in blue over black upholstery, the car was modified during a refurbishment completed before the selling dealer’s acquisition in July 2016. Additional equipment includes a Holley engine management system, a Positraction differential, an AGR quick-ratio steering box, rear Watts linkage suspension geometry, US Mags 18″ alloy wheels, Wilwood disc brakes, MagnaFlow mufflers, Corbeau bucket seats, a Sparco steering wheel, a retro-style stereo, and Dakota digital instrumentation. This Chevelle is now offered images from the refurbishment and a clean California title.
The body was removed from the frame and refinished in its current shade of blue during a refurbishment reportedly completed in 2014. Additional exterior details include quadruple headlights, side mirrors, tinted windows, and Malibu SS badging along with chrome bumpers and trim.
The gray-finished US Mags alloy wheels measure 18×8.5″ up front and 18×9″ out back and are mounted with Falken Azenis tires measuring 245/40 and 275/35, respectively. The car is equipped with front and rear sway bars, a rear FAYS2 Watts linkage, aftermarket adjustable control arms, an AGR quick-ratio steering box, and power-assisted Wilwood disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors at each corner.
The cabin features high-back Corbeau front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black and complimented by a color-matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Additional equipment includes a center console, an analog clock, bright dashboard trim, Malibu SS-embroidered floor mats, Dynamat sound insulation, and a retro-style radio wired to trunk-mounted ARC Audio subwoofers. The Classic Auto air conditioning does not function.
The three-spoke Sparco steering wheel fronts Dakota Digital instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges displaying fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 1,700 miles added since the refurbishment was completed. Total mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by an LS V8 that is equipped with Holley engine management along with Trick Flow heads, Holley fuel injectors, Holley fuel rails, a FAST 95mm throttle body, a carbon-look intake manifold cover, Hedman Husler tubular headers, stainless-steel fuel tank, and a dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers. The oil was changed in February 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission and a 10-bolt rear end with a 3.73:1 Positraction differential. Additional underside images are provided in the gallery.
