This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 is powered by a 396ci L35 V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a front bench seat, a floor-mounted shifter, a dual exhaust system, a Holley carburetor, SS badges, 15″ rally wheels, and a Delco AM radio. The car was delivered new to Welker Sales & Service of Newcomerstown, Ohio, and it was purchased by the seller in 2008. A subsequent two-year refurbishment completed in 2016 included repainting the body, refreshing the red interior, and overhauling the engine. This Chevelle SS is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a Chevrolet protect-o-plate, receipts, and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Ermine White (CC), and the body was removed from the frame and repainted under current ownership. SS-specific trim includes a blacked-out grille, faux hood scoops, 396 badging on the front fenders, SS396 emblems on the grille and rear cove, Super Sport script on the rear quarter panels, and ribbed rocker-panel moldings. Additional details include a driver-side mirror, wing windows, and dual exhausts exiting under the rear bumper.
Steel 15″ rally wheels wear polished trim rings and centers and are mounted with 215/70 BFGoodrich redline tires. Braking is accomplished with four-wheel drums.
The front and rear bench seats were reupholstered in red vinyl (747) and are complemented by matching door panels, carpets, dashboard, headliner, and interior trim. Equipment includes a floor-mounted shifter, a locking glovebox, a push-button Delco AM radio, black floor mats, and lap belts for front and rear occupants.
A two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel level gauge, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, 2k of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 396ci L35 V8 is equipped with a four-barrel Holley carburetor, polished valve covers, and a dual exhaust system. The engine was overhauled to 360-horsepower specifications in 2014 by Koppien Automotive of Sioux Falls, South Dakota with a replacement 360-horsepower camshaft, hydraulic lifters, pushrods, and timing chain and gears, and additional work included rebuilding the Holley carburetor, grinding the cylinder head valves, and fitting a GM distributor.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M-20 four-speed manual transmission linked to a 12-bolt rear axle equipped with 3.31:1 Positraction gearing.
