This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 sport coupe was built in Fremont, California, and underwent a refurbishment in the early 2000s prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2018. The car is finished in Granada Gold over a matching vinyl interior and is powered by a retrofitted 427ci General Motors V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes chrome bumpers, Super Sport badging, wrap-around tail lights, and an aftermarket Alpine sound system. This Chevelle is now offered with the removed 396ci V8, a selection of spares, service records and manuals, a Protect-o-plate, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Granada Gold and features bright trim on the windshield, windows, rocker panels, and wheel arches. Gold-painted 14″ steel wheels feature polished bowtie hubcaps and wear Goodyear redline tires. SS396 sport coupes featured a revised front suspension with higher-rate springs, recalibrated shocks, and a thicker front stabilizer bar. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.
The interior features gold vinyl bench seats along with a matching dashboard and door panels. Amenities include pop-out vent windows, black rubber floor mats, and an aftermarket Alpine sound system with the head unit located in the glove box.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 50k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 427ci General Motors V8 was installed in April 2016 and is equipped with a Holley carburetor and an aluminum Wizard Cooling radiator. Factory-rated output was 480 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
