This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu was purchased by the seller in 2003, and subsequent refurbishment work included a repaint in GM Deep Ocean Blue, an interior refresh with black vinyl upholstery, suspension and braking system overhauls, and the installation of a 468ci V8 paired with a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with a 3.55:1 Eaton limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a Custom Autosound stereo, four-wheel disc brakes, QA1 adjustable front coilovers, polyurethane suspension bushings, adjustable rear upper control arms, a high-rise intake manifold, a serpentine accessory drive system, an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and a 3″ dual exhaust system. This Chevelle Malibu is now offered with refurbishment photos, a blue California license plate, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The body was refinished in General Motors Deep Ocean Blue with white stripes during the refurbishment work completed in 2020, and features include SS badging, chrome bumpers, and a cowl induction hood. The seller states that the weatherstripping, window seals, and window tracks were replaced after the repaint.
The five-spoke wheels are finished in gunmetal gray and are wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs, and modifications include polyurethane suspension bushings, aftermarket front and rear sway bars, QA1 adjustable front coilovers, square-tube lower rear trailing arms, and adjustable upper rear control arms.
The interior features front bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, adjustable headrests, black carpets, and a black dash pad. Equipment includes air conditioning, a Custom Autosound stereo, and a center console with a storage compartment and a horseshoe-style shifter.
The instrument cluster houses round gauges including a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and readouts for amperage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. An aftermarket oil pressure gauge is mounted below the stereo, and the five-digit odometer shows only a handful of miles since the refurbishment was completed. True mileage is unknown.
The 468ci V8 was built and installed during current ownership and is said to feature a four-bolt main block, forged rotating components, oval-port cast iron cylinder heads, hardened valve seats, and a high-rise intake manifold. Additional equipment includes a serpentine accessory kit, fabricated valve covers, an aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with an Eaton 3.55:1 limited-slip differential. The 3″ dual exhaust system utilizes long-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers. The seller has provided a start-up and walk-around video below.
