This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 coupe is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 396ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels with mag-style covers as well as bright trim, SS 396 badging, a black tail panel and grille, a dual exhaust system, a center console, and an aftermarket radio. A refurbishment was reportedly carried out prior to the seller’s acquisition in early 2022. This Chevelle SS is now offered with a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in red and is said to have been repainted during previous ownership. Features include quad headlights, a blacked-out grille, ornamental hood scoops, SS 396 emblems on the grille and rear cove, Super Sport script on the quarter panels, and a dual exhaust system that exits behind the rear wheels. Brightwork consists of rocker-panel, window, and wheel-arch trim as well as the bumpers and side mirrors.
Steel 15″ wheels wear mag-style covers and are mounted with G70 Firestone redline tires. A covered full-size spare is situated in the trunk. Braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in black vinyl accented by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes front and rear lap belts, a console, a heater/defroster, Fisher-branded sill plates, and rubber floor mats as well as a retro-style radio with an auxiliary input.
A woodgrain steering wheel frames a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, battery status, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. A tachometer is mounted to the right of the steering column. The five-digit odometer was reset during the refurbishment and shows less than 10 miles. True chassis mileage is unknown.
The 396ci V8 is equipped with an orange-finished block, chrome air-cleaner and valve covers, and a Delco Energizer battery.
