This 1965 Chevrolet Malibu Sport Coupe is powered by a 396ci V8 fitted with aluminum cylinder heads and mated to a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in orange over a black vinyl interior. Additional modifications include Hedman headers, a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, MSD ignition, KYB shocks, Flowmaster mufflers, staggered-width 15″ wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, and a power steering conversion. The car is said to have been refurbished in 2010 and was acquired by the seller in February 2019. This Malibu is now offered with spare parts and a clean New Hampshire title in the seller’s name.

The pillarless body was refinished in its current shade of orange during the refurbishment in 2010, and the paintwork is shown up close in the photo gallery below. Blemishes, including orange peel, touch-ups, and other flaws, are noted in the finish. Exterior features include a cowl induction hood, dual side mirrors, and chrome bumpers and rocker moldings.

This is a re-list after the vehicle previously sold on BaT in April 2021 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. We discussed the circumstances with all parties, who were understanding of the situation. Black-finished 15” steel wheels wear polished Chevrolet hubcaps and are mounted with Kumho Power Star 758 tires that measure 165/80 up front and 255/60 out back. Power-assisted steering and front disc brakes have been retrofitted, and KYB coil springs and shocks have also been added.

The interior is said to have been reupholstered in 2017 and is trimmed in black vinyl with matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include Chevelle-branded floor mats, a locking glove compartment, lap belts, a push-button radio, and a Hurst shifter.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a Bosch 8k-rpm tachometer that is mounted to the steering column. An auxiliary three-gauge pod has been added below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles, approximately 3k of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 396ci V8 was installed under prior ownership and is reportedly fitted with 427ci aluminum cylinder heads. Additional equipment includes an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, a 100-amp alternator, an MSD distributor, and a replacement mechanical water pump.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed Borg Warner T5 manual transmission with a replacement clutch and a Positraction rear axle with 3.73:1 gearing.
