This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe has been modified for drag racing with a 540ci V8, a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, and a Dana 60 rear axle with 3.73:1 gears and Moser axles. The car has been refinished in red over a black interior and is also equipped with a roll cage, aluminum interior panels, racing seats, a fuel cell, Hooker headers, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and Cragar wheels. This modified Camaro is offered on dealer consignment with three sets of keys and a Pennsylvania title.
The car has been refinished in red and retains bumpers at both ends as well as dual side mirrors. Additional details include a cowl-induction hood, trunk lid and chin spoilers, and an SS fuel filler cap. The brake lights, side markers, and turn signals are inoperable along with the windshield washer system.
Polished 15″ Cragar wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Comp T/A tires up front and g-Force T/A drag radials out back. The car is equipped with Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, a later-model GM steering gearbox, aftermarket front racing springs, traction bars, and polyurethane suspension bushings.
The cockpit houses a roll cage, aluminum rear paneling, twin RCI racing seats trimmed in black vinyl with red inserts, an expired five-point harness for the driver, and a matching lap belt for the passenger. Controls include a billet steering wheel and a Cheetah SCS console shifter. A fuel cell and an aluminum battery box are housed in the trunk.
Stock instrumentation has been replaced by an AutoMeter Pro-Comp speedometer and tachometer, while an aluminum panel in the center stack houses additional aftermarket gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, transmission temperature, oil pressure, and voltage as well as a row of toggle switches. A nitrous oxide controller is mounted beneath, though much of the associated system has been removed. The five-digit odometer shows 3k miles, with the actual total unknown.
The replacement 502ci V8 was reportedly bored and stroked to 540ci and is said to feature a forged crankshaft, pistons, and connecting rods in addition to Brodix aluminum square-port cylinder heads. Induction is from a Holley four-barrel carburetor on a Brodix hi-rise intake manifold, and Hooker long-tube headers feed dual exhausts. Additional modifications include an aluminum radiator, MSD ignition components, and a Honda power steering pump. A damaged ignition wire is noted by the selling dealer.
Power is sent through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, a Denny Racing driveshaft, and a Dana 60 rear end with 3.73:1 gears and Moser axles.
