This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu convertible has been in the same family since it was purchased new at Rapids Chevrolet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the seller bought it from his uncle in 1997. The car was recently refurbished over the course of more than five years and is now powered by a stroked 454ci V8, which is backed by a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. A repaint has also been performed in the original Tuxedo Black color, which is complemented by a black interior featuring bucket seats. Other modifications include American Racing wheels, upsized anti-roll bars, 4-wheel disc brakes, and a cloth top with a glass rear window. The car is now offered with the factory 283ci engine, Powerglide automatic transmission, and wheels, as well as its Protect-O-Plate, owner’s guide, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

A stroked 454ci V8 has replaced the factory 283 V8, which had reportedly thrown a rod. The seller acquired the 454 as a built long-block, and it is now equipped with an Edelbrock intake, an 850cfm 4-barrel carburetor, an MSD ignition, and a Painless radiator with electric fan. A Tremec 5-speed manual transmission is installed in place of the factory 2-speed Powerglide automatic, though the latter is also included.
