This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe reportedly underwent a refurbishment around 2010 and was acquired by the seller on BaT in December 2020. Subsequent work included a repaint and the installation of a rear sway bar, Vintage Air A/C system, MSD electronic fuel injection, front lowering springs, and 3.08:1 rear gearing. Power is provided by a replacement 396ci V8 paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in black with silver stripes over black vinyl upholstery. Additional features include a cowl-induction hood, an aluminum radiator, LED taillights, an aftermarket stereo with a CD changer, front disc brakes, 15” Magum 500-style wheels, and SS badging. This Chevelle is being offered with records from current ownership, removed parts, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Cranberry Red (75), the car was repainted black during previous ownership and was refinished again in 2021 by Al’s Rod and Custom of Sparks, Nevada. The rear bumper was also replaced at that time. Exterior details include a cowl-induction hood secured with pins, silver stripes, LED taillights, chrome side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and SS 396 badging. The hood was repaired and refinished in April 2022. The seller reports that the passenger door lock sticks.

The 15” Magnum 500-style wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires that were installed during current ownership and are sized 235/60 up front and 275/60 out back. A space-saver spare is found in the trunk. Braking is via front discs and rear drums. Rear air shocks have reportedly been fitted, and a rear sway bar was installed in 2021. Work the following year included replacing the front upper ball joints, installing BMR front 1″ lowering springs, and performing an alignment. The removed front springs are included in the sale.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl upholstery with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. A Vintage Air A/C system was installed during current ownership, and appointments include electric windows, front headrests, a center console, Chevelle SS-branded floor mats, and an aftermarket digital stereo wired to a CD changer housed in the trunk. The clutch pedal assembly was replaced in September 2022.

A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a gauge cluster that was fitted with a replacement circuit board and features a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary displays. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 45k miles, around 5k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 396ci V8 was installed during prior ownership and was fitted with an MSD Atomic electronic fuel injection system and a Street Fire HEI distributor in January 2021. The fuel tank level sending unit and battery have also been replaced during current ownership and an oil change was performed in February 2023. Additional equipment includes long-tube headers and an aluminum radiator with a coolant overflow tank.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a differential that was fitted with 3.08:1 ring and pinion gears in 2022. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
