This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro has been refurbished in the style of a Yenko Camaro SS and is finished in red over white vinyl. Power is provided by a 427ci V8 paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes five-spoke alloy wheels, a 1985 Z28 power steering system, an SS style front and rear suspension, and Yenko badging. The car was acquired by the seller in 2009, and subsequent work has consisted of installing replacement carpet, headliner, seat covers, and door panels. This Camaro is offered in Canada with manufacturer’s literature, an owner’s manual, and Ontario registration in the seller’s name.
The body was repainted in red as part of a 2009 refurbishment and features a Yenko-style twin-scoop hood with hood pins, a white cowl stripe, Yenko badges, and an SS fuel filler cap. Chrome trim adorns the bumpers, window surrounds, light surrounds, and side mirrors.
Polished five-Spoke wheels wear Fusion ZR1 tires. SS-style springs and shocks from Detroit Speed have reportedly been installed. The car is equipped with front disc brakes, and the seller notes an electric vacuum assist has been fitted to the braking system. A power steering system from a 1985 Camaro Z28 was installed.
The cabin was reportedly reupholstered in 2016 and replacement white seat covers along with matching door panels, headliner, and black carpets were installed. Equipment includes manually-operated windows, lap belts, woodgrain appliqués, and Chevrolet-branded rubber floor mats. The seller notes replacement speakers were installed, and the AM radio does not work.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and fuel gauge. An aftermarket Auto Meter tachometer and water temperature gauge are fitted, and the seller notes the factory water temperature gauge does not work. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The factory 327ci V8 was reportedly replaced with a rebuilt 427ci V8 during the 2009 refurbishment. A Holly “Street Avenger” four-barrel carburetor has been installed, and an additional Holly four-barrel carburetor is included in the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Additional underside images are provided in the gallery.
