This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible was sold new at Steakley Chevrolet of Dallas, Texas, and is one of approximately 1,138 examples built with a L78 375 horsepower 396ci V8, which is linked to a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction rear axle. Finished in Butternut Yellow over black vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with a black convertible soft top, 14″ Rally wheels, power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a heater, and a Delco push-button AM radio. The car was acquired by the seller in 2005 and received a repaint in 2019 followed by an interior refresh in 2020. This Camaro is now offered by the seller in Oklahoma with 1990s service records, an NCRS Shipping Data Report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The car left the factory finished in Butternut Yellow (Y), and received a repaint in 2019. Features include a black convertible soft top, a black nose stripe and tail panel, faux hood vents, SS and 396 badging, and chrome bumpers.
The 14″ Rally wheels wear polished trim rings and are mounted with F70 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport redline tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The low-back front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in black vinyl and are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpet. Interior elements include a heater, a locking glove compartment, a Delco push-button AM radio, front and rear lap belts, and black rubber floor mats with bowtie logos. The carpet and door panels were replaced in 2020. The rear lap belt clasp is missing.
The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel was refurbished in 2020 and frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 87k miles.
The 396ci L78 V8 is fed by a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 375 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt and internally balanced in the 1990s and the carburetor was overhauled in 2018.
Photos of the engine stamp pad are displayed in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction rear axle.
