This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 was delivered new to Hullett Chevrolet in Waskom, Texas, and was acquired by the seller from a family member in 2014. The car is finished in blue over Ivory vinyl and is powered by a 402ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include an Ivory vinyl roof, white racing stripes, a performance suspension, front disc brakes, SS-style wheels, air conditioning, and a Kenwood CD stereo. The seller reports that the car has been in storage since 2011 and is currently unregistered. This Chevelle is now offered with two build sheets, a Protect-O-Plate, reproduction window stickers, an owner’s manual, partial service receipts, and a clean Delaware title in the seller’s name.
The seller states that the body was refinished in the factory Fathom Blue (28) in 1995. Features include an Ivory vinyl roof, chrome bumpers, SS badges, and white racing stripes. SS-style 14″ wheels feature polished trim rings and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Factory equipment includes power steering, F41 performance suspension, and power-assisted front disc brakes.
The interior features Strato Bucket seats, a rear bench, and door panels upholstered in Ivory vinyl (791) along with a black dashboard and carpets. Equipment includes air conditioning, front seat belts with shoulder harnesses, rear lap belts, a center console, an AM radio and 8-track player, a glove box-mounted Kenwood CD player, and a trunk-mounted Alpine amplifier.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the family. Total mileage is unknown.
The 402ci V8 was factory rated at 350 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque and topped with a four-barrel carburetor. Photos of the engine stamping pad are provided in the gallery.
