This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe is refinished in blue over black vinyl and is powered by a 396ci V8 mated with a three-speed automatic transmission. It was acquired by the selling dealer in May 2022 and first listed on BaT in August 2022. Modifications include Hotchkis sway bars, QA1 rear coilovers, Aerospace Components brake calipers, an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold, Edelbrock Victor aluminum cylinder heads, and Aeromotive fuel system components with a trunk-mounted fuel cell. Additional equipment includes chrome-finished 16″ wheels, Super Sport and 396 badging, aftermarket gauges, and a TCI Outlaw shifter. This Chevelle Malibu is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car was refinished in its current shade of blue under prior ownership. Features include a hood with faux twin scoops, tinted windows, SS and 396 badging, and Super Sport script on the rear quarter panels. Corrosion is noted on the rear bumper.
Chrome-finished 16″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with 215/55 BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S front tires and 275/55 M&H Racemaster rear drag radials. The suspension is modified with aftermarket front tubular lower control arms, Hotchkis sway bars, and Metco control arms with QA1 coilovers in the rear. Braking is handled by Aerospace Components calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered black vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes woodgrain trim, manual-crank windows, retractable lap belts, and a TCI Automotive Outlaw shifter. Occasional difficulty shifting from drive to neutral or park is noted.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts aftermarket instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and a digital clock. An MSD 6AL ignition box is mounted below the center of the dashboard. The digital odometer shows 1,500 miles. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement 396-based V8 is equipped with an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold, Edelbrock Victor aluminum cylinder heads, MSD ignition components, long-tube headers, and an Aeromotive fuel system. The cooling system reportedly features a Proform electric water pump, and the top of the aftermarket aluminum radiator is marked with “496.” A fuel cell is mounted in the trunk.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TCI Automotive-built TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt GM rear end that features an aftermarket differential cover. The selling dealer notes that the transmission is equipped with a reverse-shift-pattern manual valve body. The dual exhaust system is fitted with an H-pipe.
