This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle was purchased by the seller in 2014 with a 454ci V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission, and has since been modified with a Pontiac GTO-sourced LS1 V8 and a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission by Moore Speed in Sacramento, California. The car has been refinished in black over a red interior and features a black vinyl roof, SS-style wheels and trim, bucket seats, a full-length center console, and a period AM radio. This Chevelle is offered with recent records, a black California license plate, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
Originally finished in Dover White, the car was repainted in its current black with red stripes under previous ownership. Features include a double-bulge hood, a black vinyl roof, and SS396 badging.
Chrome 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels wear SS center caps and 245/60 BFGoodrich white-letter tires. Black paint loss is noted on the inner wheels, and the seller notes that the radio antenna is bent. A
braking video and an acceleration video are provided by the seller.
The interior has been trimmed in red vinyl and features bucket seats and a full-length center console as well as a matching headliner, carpets, side panels, and plastic trim. A period AM radio is mounted in the dash.
Period-look aftermarket instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 2k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the seller. Total chassis mileage is unknown. A backlight is out in the left combination gauge.
The LS1 V8 was sourced from a 2004 Pontiac GTO and fitted with Doug’s ceramic-coated exhaust headers. A new fuel tank, pump, sender, and pressure regulator were also installed. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a McLeod twin-disc clutch, a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission, a custom driveshaft, and a 3.73:1 rear end with Eaton positraction. Receipts for the work performed are provided in the gallery. The seller notes that a battery disconnect has been installed to prevent electrical drainage.
