This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was repainted in gold with a black nose stripe under previous ownership before being acquired by the seller in 2020. The car is powered by a replacement 350ci V8 linked with a two-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle. Further equipment includes 14″ Rally wheels, RS-style hideaway headlights, and front and rear spoilers as well as a Weiand aluminum intake manifold and a dual exhaust system with tubular headers. Work under current ownership has involved repairing and repainting the SS-style hood as well as installing an Edelbrock carburetor and air cleaner housing. This Camaro coupe is now offered with a car cover and an Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The body was originally finished in Seafrost Green and was repainted in gold with a black nose stripe under previous ownership. The car wears SS and 350 badging, and additional features include an SS-style hood, RS-style hideaway headlights, chrome bumpers, and front and rear spoilers. The seller reports that the hood was repaired and repainted after the carburetor caught on fire. There is a scratch on the right door, chips are present around the rear SS badge, and the taillight finish is peeling.
Steel 14″ Rally wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps. White-letter BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires are mounted at all four corners. The car is equipped with power steering as well as power-assisted brakes.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Woodgrain trim accents the center console, and equipment includes a heater, crank windows, and carpeted floor mats. The AM radio does not work, and chips can be seen on the glovebox door.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 52k miles, less than 200 of which have been added by the seller. The title shows an odometer reading of 61k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 is said to have been sourced from a later model Camaro and installed under previous ownership. It is equipped with a Weiand aluminum intake manifold as well as tubular headers and chrome valve covers. An Edelbrock carburetor and air cleaner housing were installed after the aforementioned fire. The car features an aftermarket aluminum radiator, and a chrome alternator and brake master cylinder are installed within the engine bay. The oil was changed in June 2023.
The block stamping is shown above.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle.
