This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe is powered by a replacement 454ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and it is finished in dark green over tan vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes white stripes, a cowl-induction hood, 15″ American Racing wheels, front Wilwood disc brakes, and chrome bumpers. The car is said to have been refurbished during previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in August 2017. This Chevelle is now offered with an Ohio title in the seller’s name.
That car was finished from the factory in Forest Green and features white stripes on the cowl-induction hood and decklid in addition to SS 454 badging, hood pins, and chrome bumpers. The right-front wheel arch trim is dented, and the seller notes blemishes in the paint.
American Racing 15″ wheels are wrapped in 215/65 front and 275/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Front Wilwood disc brakes were installed during current ownership. Yellow-finished traction bars are fitted in the rear. The seller states that the parking brake is inoperative.
The cabin features bench seats reupholstered in tan vinyl along with a coordinating dashboard and door panels. Appointments include lap belts, crank windows, and a fire extinguisher. The dashboard is cracked, and tears in the seat upholstery are shown in the image gallery below.
The SS-branded steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and gauges for amperage, temperature, and fuel level. An aftermarket tachometer is mounted on the steering column, and auxiliary gauges are located on the A-pillar. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 3k miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 454ci V8 was installed during prior ownership and features Chevrolet-branded valve covers, exhaust headers, and an aftermarket exhaust system. A Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system was added during current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transmission. Additional underbody photos are included in the image gallery below.
