This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible was refurbished approximately 15 years ago under prior ownership, and it is finished in red and white with a white soft top over a custom beige interior. Power comes from a 350ci Vortec V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and additional modifications include American Eagle wheels, power-assisted steering and brakes, an Ididit steering column, a Holley carburetor, a Griffin radiator, and more. This Bel Air has been with the seller for eleven years and is now offered with service records dating to 2008, a 2006 Classic Chevy magazine article featuring the car, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.
The body was refinished in its current red and white in 2003 under previous ownership. The exterior features chrome trim as well as a white soft top, which was fitted with replacement hydraulic rams in March 2019 and is photographed in its raised and lowered positions in the gallery below.
Polished American Eagle 17″ wheels are mounted with Federal tires. The suspension has been lowered using 2″ drop spindles in the front, and the car is equipped with front disc brakes and Mullins 605 power-assisted steering.
The interior was refurbished by Dan’s Place Custom Interiors of Kelowna, British Columbia and features beige synthetic leather and suede on the seats and door panels. Custom armrests, power windows, and color-matched seatbelts have been added along with a chrome Ididit steering column and an aftermarket stereo wired to speakers in the kick panels.
The five-digit odometer shows approximately 10k miles, about 1k of which reportedly have been added by the seller; true mileage is unknown.
The 350ci Vortec V8 crate engine was rated at 330 horsepower when new and features a Holley carburetor, exhaust headers, a Griffin aluminum radiator, and polished accessories.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Additional underbody photos are presented in the gallery, which also includes the Classic Chevy magazine article featuring this car. Cold-start and driving videos are provided below.
