This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was initially delivered to Shalla Chevrolet of Detroit, Michigan, and is powered by a 302ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Work prior to the seller’s acquisition of the car on BaT in January 2022 included refinishing the car in Daytona Yellow with black stripes in 2012 and rebuilding the engine in 2019. Equipment includes a Positraction rear axle with 3.73:1 gearing as well as 15″ rally-style wheels, front disc brakes, front and rear spoilers, a black vinyl roof cover, black upholstery, a center console, and an AM radio. This Z/28 Camaro is offered with a MacNeish Report and certificate of authenticity, a list of part stampings, an NCRS shipping data report, and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.
A refurbishment completed in 2012 reportedly included repainting the exterior in Daytona Yellow with black stripes and recovering the black vinyl roof. Features include chrome bumpers, front and rear spoilers, “Z/28” badging, dual side mirrors, a ZL2-style cowl induction hood, bumper-integrated fog lights, and a dual-exit exhaust.
Silver-painted 15″ Rally wheels with polished trim rings and hub caps wear Goodyear Polyglas white-letter tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and a full-size spare tire is mounted in the trunk.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl complemented by a color-matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include woodgrain trim, a center console, a Hurst shifter, manually operated windows, and an AM radio. Replacement carpets were reportedly installed prior to the seller’s acquisition. Wear on the center console trim is noted.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and an analog clock. Sunpro gauges showing coolant temperature and oil pressure are mounted in a cluster in front of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 200 of which have been added under current ownership.
The 302ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt in 2019 and is equipped with a forged steel crankshaft, domed aluminum pistons, a solid-lifter camshaft, and a single-four barrel carburetor. The oil was changed in January 2023.
Power is directed to the rear wheels through a four-speed Muncie M21 manual transmission and 12-bolt Positraction rear axle with 3.73:1 gearing.
