This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is a two-door Sport Coupe that was produced at GM’s Fremont, California facility, and it was reportedly purchased by the owner’s parents in the mid-1970s and given to the owner as a graduation present in the early 1980s. The car was reportedly refurbished 12 years ago, and it is finished in blue over gray cloth upholstery and powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes air conditioning, front disc brakes, Rally wheels, a dual exhaust system, and an aftermarket stereo. This Chevelle is offered by the seller on behalf of his aunt with a clean California title.
The car was factory finished in Butternut Yellow (40) and was refinished in blue in the late seventies following repairs from an accident. The seller states that the car was repainted approximately 12 years ago, at which time the black vinyl top was replaced and the brightwork was refreshed. The seller notes flaws on both front fenders as well as the trunk lid, images of which are provided in the gallery below. There is also corrosion under the trunk lid, and the car wears yellow-on-black California plates.
The 15″ rally wheels wear chrome beauty rings and center caps and are mounted with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The seller states that disc brakes have been fitted up front.
The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in gray cloth and black vinyl, and black carpeting lines the floors. Equipment includes air conditioning, an Audiovox stereo, and manual crank windows.
The Grant GT steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges are mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit mechanical odometer has rolled over and now shows 18k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 is reportedly a replacement motor that has been rebuilt, and it features an Edelbrock carburetor and an open-element air cleaner. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. The car is equipped with a dual exhaust system.
