This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was customized by Driven Rides & Rods of St. Louis, Missouri, before being relocated to California and purchased by the seller on BaT in August 2020. The custom build included body modifications, a repaint in black with a red stripe, and an interior refresh featuring four bucket seats upholstered in leather, Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Kenwood and Arc Audio sound system. Power comes from a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission equipped with a 3,600-rpm stall converter. Further modifications include a Ford 9″ rear axle, a 3.73:1 limited-slip differential, a four-link rear suspension setup, RideTech air suspension components, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, 20″ Coys wheels, and a 3″ dual exhaust system with electric cutouts. This Camaro is now offered in Canada with build receipts and a British Columbia registration document.
The body is finished in black with a single red stripe and features recessed driving lights as well as a chin spoiler on the front valance. Electric hide-away headlamps sit on either side of an RS-style grille, and the door handles were shaved and replaced with electric poppers. A paint crack is noted below the bottom-right corner of the rear window. The seller notes that a ceramic coating was applied to the paint under current ownership.
Chrome 20″ Coys wheels measure 8″ wide up front and 15″ wide out back, and wear a combination of 245/30 Nitto NT555 tires and 29×15.00″ Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R tires. Four-wheel disc brakes are comprised of four-piston Wilwood calipers over cross-drilled rotors, and the 9″ Ford rear axle is connected to an adjustable four-link setup. The RideTech air suspension system is pressurized by a pump, tank, and valves in the trunk, and can be manipulated using an LCD controller on the dash. The rear wheel wells have been tubbed.
The interior features power-adjustable low-back front bucket seats, a fabricated center console, individual rear seats, and matching door panels with aluminum inserts. Amenities include power windows, Vintage Air climate control, a Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, and an Arc audio system. The seller states the front seat mounts have been moved rearward, and lap belts have been added.
An aftermarket steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and frames Dakota Digital instrumentation that includes a speedometer and tachometer as well as oil pressure and coolant temperature gauges. The digital odometer indicates 1,100 miles, approximately 700 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The ignition switch was replaced in July 2020.
A fuel-injected 6.0-liter LS2 V8 reportedly features a 90mm throttle body and a Texas Speed Torquer V3 camshaft. Additional equipment includes fabricated fuel-rail covers, Kwik Performance and Holley accessory brackets, and a four-core aluminum radiator with twin 12″ electric cooling fans. A Detroit Speed core support cover has been installed along with billet aluminum hood hinges. Fuel is drawn from a Rick’s 15-gallon stainless steel tank. The seller added a revised air intake pipe.
The dual exhaust system is comprised of Hooker Super Competition headers, BadlanzHPE electric cutouts, and DynaTech mufflers with turn-down tips exiting just ahead of the rear end. The four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission features a 3,600-rpm stall converter from Yank Performance and is supported by a G-Force crossmember. A Ford 9″ rear axle houses a 3.73:1 limited-slip differential and 31-spline Moser axles.
