This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was refurbished and modified as part of a multi-year project initiated following the seller’s acquisition in 2003. Work involved a repaint and an interior re-trim along with installation of a twin-turbocharged 400ci V8, a Currie 9″ rear end, a coilover suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. The car was listed on BaT in May 2021 and is said to have subsequently undergone further work including an engine rebuild and the addition of a Holley EFI system, a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission, Ikon Motorsport bucket seats, 18″ ESR multi-piece wheels, and replacement exhaust components. Finished in metallic blue, it features front and rear spoilers along with Dakota Digital instrumentation, a Hurst shifter, a roll bar, and more as detailed below. This modified Camaro is now offered with the removed bucket seats and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The seller states that an aluminum hood, front valance, and fenders were installed and the tail panel, trunk lid, doors, and inner fenders were replaced prior to a repaint in metallic blue completed between 2014 and 2017. Contrasting hockey stick stripes adorn the fenders and doors, while further details include front and rear spoilers along with SS badging, tinted glass, and chrome bumpers.
The five-spoke 18×9.5″ front and 18×10.5″ rear ESR wheels are wrapped in Federal and Nitto tires, respectively. The car rides on adjustable coilovers and is equipped with tubular front A-arms as well as a four-link rear suspension. Further modifications are said to include installation of a replacement front subframe and connectors, a power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering system, tall front spindles, and rear mini-tubs as well as a Wilwood brake master cylinder and C5 Corvette–sourced brake calipers over 12″ front and 13″ rear rotors.
The Ikon Motorsport bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with tartan-style cloth inserts and are accompanied by Sparco four-point harnesses affixed to a roll bar out back. The dash wears woodgrain trim, and the seller states that the interior trim and carpets have been replaced under their ownership.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel is paired with a floor-mounted Hurst shifter. Dakota Digital instrumentation has been installed in place of the factory gauges, and a warning light and boost pressure gauge are mounted atop the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 1675 miles, approximately ~5000 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The battery has been relocated to the trunk and is accompanied by cutoff switches for the electrical and fuel systems.
According to the seller, the replacement 400ci V8 was rebuilt with higher compression pistons and fitted with a Holley EFI system. It is reportedly fitted with the following components:
- Aluminum World Products block
- SCAT crankshaft
- Crower titanium connecting rods
- CP pistons
- 18-Degree Brodix cylinder heads
- Hydraulic roller camshaft
- Brodix intake manifold
- Edelbrock throttle body intake elbow
- Twin Garrett ball bearing turbochargers
- Twin intercoolers
- External oil cooler
- Aluminum flywheel
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission that was reportedly installed in 2022 in place of the previously fitted TKO 600 unit. A replacement clutch assembly is said to have been added at that time, and further equipment includes an aluminum driveshaft and differential housing as well as a 9″ Currie rear end with a Torsen limited-slip differential. The replacement exhaust system features a crossover pipe as well as stainless-steel mufflers.
