This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle coupe was modified and refurbished approximately eight years ago, including installation of a 5.7-liter LT1 V8 and four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission. The car was repainted dark red over a black interior and is equipped with a 10-bolt rear end, four-wheel disc brakes with Hydroboost, SS badging, Dakota Digital gauges, an aftermarket stereo system, 15″ Rally-style wheels, a dual exhaust system, and air conditioning. This Chevelle is now offered by the selling dealer in Connecticut with a clean Florida title.
The body received a two-stage repaint around eight years ago in Merlot Jewel Metallic and features a black accent stripe. The floors and trunk pan are said to have been replaced, along with the hood, inner wheel housings, rear taillight panel, weatherstripping, and chrome trim. Exterior details include chrome bumpers, SS and 396 badging, polished exhaust outlets, and dual hood vents.
Steel 15” Rally-style wheels wear chrome hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with Mastercraft Avenger G/T tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with Hydroboost. The steering box and power-steering pump were reportedly replaced around eight years ago, along with the shocks, springs, ball joints, and control arms, which are powder coated black.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench that are trimmed in black vinyl and joined by matching door panels and carpeting. A retro-style radio with USB and an auxiliary input has been added to the dash and is linked with an Alpine amplifier and six Pioneer speakers. The air conditioning compressor, condenser, and lines were reportedly replaced during the refurbishment.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts Dakota Digital instrumentation that consists of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, a digital clock, and gauges for fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows 323 miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The fuel-injected 5.7L LT1 V8 and four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission were reportedly sourced from a 1995 Buick Roadmaster, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a 10-bolt rear end. A four-core radiator has been installed along with an aftermarket dual air intake with conical filters. The seller states that the wiring harnesses were replaced during the refurbishment, along with the water pump, heater core, wiper motor, and fuel tank with an internal electric fuel pump.
