This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was refurbished and modified during previous ownership with the installation of a 396ci V8 and a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission, a suspension overhaul, and a repaint in Viper Bright Yellow with black stripes. The car is equipped with a 3.73:1 Positraction differential, black vinyl upholstery, Hotchkis springs, subframe connectors, power-assisted steering and front disc brakes, front and rear spoilers, and chrome 17” wheels as well as an Edelbrock intake manifold, a COMP Cams camshaft, an Accel HEI distributor, and a dual exhaust system with Pypes mufflers. This Camaro was purchased by the seller in 2018 and is now offered with photos and receipts from the build and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.
The body has been repainted in Viper Bright Yellow with black hood and trunk stripes. Details include front and rear spoilers, tinted windows, a cowl hood, dual exhaust outlets, and SS badging. The car is not equipped with a windshield washer pump or reservoir. A crack and paint chips are shown up close in the gallery below.
Chrome 17” wheels are mounted with Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR tires sized 235/45 up front and 275/40 out back. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The body mounts, leaf springs, and subframe connectors have reportedly been replaced, and a Hotchkis front sway bar, springs, and polyurethane control arm bushings are installed according to the seller. The parking brake assembly has been removed and is included in the sale.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl upholstery with matching door panels. The floors are covered by black carpets and mats, and features include power steering, front shoulder belts, a B&M shifter, a center console, and a faux carbon-fiber shifter surround. Close-up photos of a puncture in the driver’s seat and a crack in the center console lid are provided in the gallery.
A later-style four-spoke steering wheel with an SS center cap sits ahead of AutoMeter Pro-Comp instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and four auxiliary gauges in the center stack. The five-digit odometer was reset during the build and shows approximately 4k miles, around 400 of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 396ci V8 was installed during the build and is topped by a Quick Fuel Technology carburetor mounted to an Edelbrock intake manifold. Additional features include 396-branded chrome valve covers, an aluminum radiator with electric fans, a COMP Cams camshaft with a hydraulic lifter kit, an Accel HEI distributor, Hooker headers, and a 3” exhaust system terminating through Pypes mufflers. The seller notes an oil leak from the rear main seal and states that an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission with a 3k-rpm stall torque converter and a 12-bolt Positraction differential with 3.73:1 gearing. Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery.
A collection of photos taken during various stages of the build is included.
