This 1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible was restored in the early 1990s and is powered by a 327ci V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission with an indicated 75k miles. It is located in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada and has been owned by the seller for the last four years. Refurbishment work reportedly included parts sourced from two different donor cars along with a color change from factory blue to red. This Impala is now being offered with a recent service, restoration photos, and a New Brunswick registration in the seller’s name.
The body was originally finished in blue and was changed to bright red in 1992 as part of a frame-up restoration. Photos show the hood and left front fender paintwork as being mismatched, while minor nicks on the lower fenders, cracked paint near the bottom of both door posts, and bubbling on the right door handle and window trim are visible in gallery photos.
The stainless grillework shows scratches and light pitting. Tires were checked as part of the recent safety inspection and the right rear tire was replaced. The white power top is shown in both raised and lowered positions in the gallery and retains its original glass rear window.
A walk-around is shown in the video above.
The cabin is trimmed in red vinyl with matching carpets and hard plastics, while wood-effect vinyl trim is found across the dashboard and horn pad. A late-model cassette radio is fitted in place of the original unit, and the front seats were reportedly sourced from a 1963 Pontiac Parisienne. The odometer indicates 75,500 miles.
Cosmetic issues include upholstery separation near the top of the passenger seat, general wear across the dashboard, and a cracked steering wheel. The fabric top is stowed beneath a color-matched soft tonneau cover.
The 327ci Turbo-Fire V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission and was rated at 235 horsepower when new. According to the seller, the car was serviced by the previous owner’s father who also performed much of the restoration work. The most recent service was completed in preparation for sale and included an oil/filter change and general safety inspection.
An engine start and power top operation sequence is shown in the video above.
Several chassis photos are included and are viewable in the gallery.
