This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air station wagon is said to have been purchased by the seller’s father in 1983, refurbished in 1989, moved from San Diego to Las Vegas in 2001, and inherited in 2015. The car is finished in Gypsy Red over a tan interior, and power is from a 265ci V8 paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes Bel Air trim, 15″ steel wheels with covers and wide-whitewall tires, a heater, dual exhausts, and an AM radio. This Bel Air wagon is offered with a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Gypsy Red and features chrome Bel Air trim, dual mirrors, twin exhaust outlets that exit below the rear bumper, and a jet plane hood ornament. The seller notes that the finish has faded from sitting outside in the Las Vegas sun.
Red 15″ steel wheels wear Chevrolet covers and wide-whitewall tires that are said to have been mounted in 2020. A full-size spare is housed under the trunk floor. The car is equipped with four-wheel drum brakes and manual steering.
The cabin features tan vinyl and cloth seat upholstery as well as door panels and a body-colored dash. Equipment includes a heater, bright Bowtie dash trim, a clock above the glove compartment, and an AM radio. The headliner is sagging, the front seat is torn and cracked, and the heater core has been disconnected due to a leak.
A body-colored steering wheel with a chrome horn ring frames a 110-mph speedometer along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles, with total mileage unknown. The instrument panel lights are out.
The 265ci V8 is fed by a two-barrel carburetor topped with an oil-bath air cleaner. The engine’s top end is said to have been refurbished in 2015. A single-wire alternator has been installed in place of the stock generator.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. A rust hole on the underside is pictured in the gallery below.
