This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air coupe is a non-running project that was acquired by the seller’s father in June 1974 and has reportedly been in storage since 2006. The car is finished in two-tone Regal Turquoise and India Ivory over a matching two-tone interior and is equipped with a 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, an AM radio, aftermarket gauges, and slotted alloy wheels. This Bel Air is now offered by the seller on behalf of their father’s estate with a clean California title.
The car is finished in two-tone Regal Turquoise and India Ivory and features Bel Air badging, a single side mirror, and chrome trim. The seller states that the chrome bumpers are pitted.
Slotted alloy wheels wear bowtie center caps and Grenadier LTE Road King tires. The car is equipped with Chevrolet’s Knee-Action front suspension and rear leaf springs while stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
The interior features bench seats upholstered in two-tone turquoise vinyl and Straw pattern cloth along with matching door panels and turquoise carpeting. Amenities include vent windows, a heater, an AM radio, and a locking glove box. There are stains on the headliner seams and pitting is visible on the vent window trim.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer and inset gauges for engine temperature and fuel level. An aftermarket tachometer and auxiliary gauges are mounted under the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 54k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 327ci V8 is equipped with an Edelbrock carburetor and M/T finned valve covers. The seller notes that the carburetor was last rebuilt in 2004 and the battery was replaced earlier this year. The engine is said to turn over but does not start.
