This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was delivered new to Dana Chevrolet of South Gate, California, and was refurbished as a COPO tribute under previous ownership in 2006. Finished in Tuxedo Black over ivory vinyl upholstery, the car is powered by a 427ci V8 mated with a four-speed manual transmission and a locking differential. Additional equipment includes a cowl induction hood, body-colored 15″ wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, a dual exhaust system, and a chrome Hurst gear shift. This COPO tribute Camaro was acquired by the selling dealer in July 2021 and is offered with a reproduction window sticker, refurbishment photos, and a clean Florida title.
The body was finished at the factory in Tuxedo Black (10) and was repainted during a 2006 refurbishment. Additional work is said to have included stripping the body, replacing the front fenders and rear quarter panels, rechroming the bumpers, and installing a cowl induction hood. Features include dual exhaust outlets and chrome bumpers.
Body-colored steel wheels wear bow-tie hubcaps and are mounted with E70 Goodyear Wide Tread GT white-letter tires. A matching spare is stored in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.
The cabin was retrimmed during the refurbishment and features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in ivory vinyl joined by matching door panels. Additional equipment includes a chrome Hurst gear shift, a tile steering column, front seat lap belts, and hand-crank windows. The radio and cabin heater have been removed.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a fuel gauge. An auxiliary coolant temperature gauge is mounted beneath the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 69 miles. The odometer was reset during the refurbishment and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 427ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and polished rocker covers. Service under current ownership has included an oil change and carburetor adjustment.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with a G80 locking differential and 4.10:1 gearing.
