This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS was built at the Van Nuys, California plant and delivered new to Hansen Chevrolet of Los Angeles, California. The car is finished in red with white stripes over white and houndstooth upholstery and powered by a replacement 302ci V8 mated to a replacement four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction rear axle with 3.73:1 gears. Equipment includes a cowl induction hood, concealed headlamps, front and rear spoilers, power steering, power front disc brakes, and 15″ Rally wheels as well as a Hurst shifter, rosewood steering wheel, a fold-down rear seat, a center console with auxiliary gauges, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The car was acquired by the seller in 2022. This Z/28 is offered with a window sticker copy, a dealer invoice copy, past registration documents, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Garnet Red (52) with white stripes and is said to have been repainted in 1983. Features include a steel cowl induction hood, concealed headlamps, a body-colored front bumper, chrome rear bumper, front and rear spoilers, white pinstripes, Z/28 and Rallysport badging, polished rocker trim, reverse lamps, and a dual-outlet exhaust system that exits below the rear bumper. There are dents in the right front fender above the fender extension trim, and paint blemishes are shown in the gallery.
Silver-painted 15″ Rally wheels wear polished trim rings and hub caps and are mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in white vinyl with houndstooth inserts joined by color-coordinated door panels. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, center console, Hurst shifter, faux wood trim, crank windows, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The seller notes that the dash pad is lifting.
The rosewood steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer. The analog clock does not work. Auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery amperage are stacked in two tiers on the center console ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 100 of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 302ci V8 was rebuilt in 1982 and features a Holley four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake manifold, and finned valve covers. An oil change was performed in preparation for sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction rear axle with 3.73:1 gears.
