This 1965 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe was acquired by the seller and his father 25 years ago in Virginia. The car is finished in Ermine White over a blue vinyl interior and was modified shortly after its acquisition by the seller with the installation of a 350ci V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission. Other work completed by the seller included rust repair, an interior refresh, and a repaint. Modifications include 17″ wheels, Bilstein shocks, and a dual exhaust system. The seller states that the car remained in storage for most of the past 20 years and was relocated to South Carolina in 2016. This Impala is now offered with service manuals, spare parts, records dating back to 1995, and a South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The seller states that the car was repainted in its original Ermine White between 2006 and 2008, at which time a patch panel was welded in the lower right-front fender. Body filler is noted on both rear quarter panels, the fenders, and the roof, and rust was also treated beneath the rear window, trunk lid, and trunk floor. Corrosion is noted on the hood and quarter panels, and evidence of corrosion repair is noted around the rear window frame and in the trunk.
Showwheels Streeter 17” wheels are finished in gray with polished lips and wear Goodyear Eagle Sport tires. Suspension modifications include Bilstein shocks and a larger front sway bar. The seller notes that the four-wheel drum brakes were rebuilt in 2016, and a replacement steering box was also installed at that time.
The interior is upholstered in blue vinyl and features a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Interior features include front and rear bench seats, wood-look dashboard accents, a lockable glovebox, a heater and defroster, and black rubber floor mats. Replacement vent window weatherstripping was installed in 2019.
The wood-rimmed aftermarket steering wheel wears a Chevrolet logo horn button and frames a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel level gauge, and an analog clock. An aftermarket tachometer is mounted to the steering column, and auxiliary gauges showing battery voltage, oil pressure, and water temperature are mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, approximately 20k of which were added since 1995. Total mileage is unknown.
The factory inline-six was replaced with a 350ci V8 that was reportedly rebuilt and installed by the seller and his father after the car was purchased in 1995. Ceramic-coated four-into-one headers and a dual exhaust system have been added. The seller reports an engine oil leak at the rear main seal and notes that the battery will drain if the car is left sitting for an extended period of time. A video of the engine running can be viewed here, and a separate video of the exhaust note can be viewed here.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.08:1 rear end. Work completed in 2019 included a repaired transmission speedometer gear and an oil change.
An assembly manual, body service manual, records dating back to 1995, a reproduction owner’s manual, and two sets of keys are included in the sale along with the removed two-spoke steering wheel and a spare 17″ wheel and tire. The South Carolina title contains an “exceeds mechanical limits” brand.
