This 1965 Chevrolet Impala Caprice Custom hardtop sedan was initially purchased from Platte Motor Company of Douglas, Wyoming, and later moved to Colorado and Ohio before being acquired by the seller in December 2018. Finished in Evening Orchid over black vinyl upholstery, the car is powered by a 283ci V8 mated to a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black vinyl roof, chrome bumpers and trim, 14” wheels with full covers, a padded dashboard, and a factory AM radio. This Caprice is now offered at no reserve with 1965 purchase documentation, historical registrations, service records, a Protect-O-Plate, manufacturer’s literature, a dashboard protector, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Evening Orchid with a black vinyl roof. Exterior features include chrome bumpers with front overriders, a rear antenna, quad headlights, and six tail-lamps. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, and blemishes can be seen in the gallery below.
Factory 14” steel wheels are fitted with polished covers and wear 205/75 Coker American Classic whitewall tires that were reportedly mounted in 2019. A spare wheel and tire is mounted in the trunk.
The cabin features front and rear bench seating trimmed in black vinyl with a matching dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Woodgrain veneers accent the door panels and dashboard, and amenities include front lap belts, a padded dashboard, an analog clock, and a factory AM radio.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and auxiliary warning lights. A period ammeter/voltmeter is mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, approximately 2k of which were added during current ownership.
The 283ci V8 is equipped with a two-barrel carburetor. An oil change was performed during current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission with a steering-column-mounted gear shifter. Additional underside photos can be seen in the gallery below.
