This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro was acquired in 2017 by the seller, who subsequently installed a replacement 383ci V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in metallic gray over black upholstery, and equipment includes 17″ wheels, power steering, Sparco seats, AutoMeter gauges, and an Alpine Bluetooth stereo. The cabin features Sparco front bucket seats trimmed in black cloth, a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl, and matching door panels and carpets. Dynamat sound deadening has been installed below the carpeting, and equipment includes power steering, woodgrain trim, a floor-mounted shifter, and an Alpine Bluetooth stereo linked to JL Audio speakers. The seller notes that the front seat belt buckles are missing, there is no HVAC system, and the rear window regulators do not operate smoothly.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames AutoMeter instruments consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows approximately 4,600 miles, which is said to reflect the distance traveled since installation of the replacement drivetrain. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
The replacement 383ci V8 was installed by the seller and is equipped with aluminum cylinder heads, MSD fuel injection and ignition systems, an aluminum radiator with electric cooling fans, a Flowmaster exhaust system, and a Painless Performance wiring harness. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a StreetFighter 2004R four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.73:1 Positraction differential. The seller notes a leak from the transmission gear selector shaft.
