This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 sport coupe was repainted red and fitted with a replacement big-block V8 as part of a refurbishment completed under previous ownership. The engine is equipped with a Summit Racing 750-CFM carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and a dual exhaust system with long-tube headers. Gear changes are through a Hurst shifter linked to a Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission, and a 12-bolt axle with a Positraction limited-slip differential and traction bars is equipped out back. Inside, black vinyl–trimmed seats are accompanied by a sport steering wheel as well as a center console and a digital media receiver. Further details include a twin-domed hood and 15″ Rally wheels along with power steering and drum brakes. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this SS 396 is now offered with a Washington State title.
The car left the factory finished in Island Teal (F) and was repainted red as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. It features a twin-domed hood, a black grille, and SS 396 badging along with a driver-side mirror, hideaway windshield wipers, and chrome bumpers. The selling dealer notes paint bubbles on the hood, rust near the right-rear wheel opening, and various other paint imperfections around the body.
The 15″ Rally Wheels wheels wear beauty rings as well as finned center caps and are mounted with Dunlop G/T Qualifier white-letter tires measuring 245/60. The car is further equipped with power steering and drum brakes.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are said to have been reupholstered in black vinyl, which extends to the dash and door panels. The headliner and carpets are also noted to have been replaced at the time of the refurbishment. An aftermarket digital media receiver has been installed, and further interior appointments include a center console, a cabin heater, and lap belts for five occupants. Wear is visible on the driver’s seat.
A split-spoke sport steering wheel is paired with a Hurst shifter and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. Additional auxiliary gauges are located in an aftermarket pod below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, and the selling dealer states that true mileage is unknown.
The selling dealer states that the big-block V8 displaces 454ci and has been fitted with a performance camshaft. It is equipped a polished air cleaner atop a Summit Racing 750-CFM carburetor and an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Muncie M20 wide-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with a Positraction limited-slip differential and 3.31:1 gearing. Traction bars have been added out back, and long-tube headers empty into a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.
