This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is powered by a rebuilt 265ci V8 paired with a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Finished in two-tone red and white over a red and beige vinyl interior, it is equipped with a white softtop, an AM radio, and a clock. The car has been driven approximately 500 miles since the seller’s acquisition in 2011, and it was restored in 2014 and 2015. This Bel Air is now offered with records from the refurbishment and a clean California title.
Restoration work reportedly performed by Bill Potts in 2014 and 2015 included a repaint in two-tone red and white and the installation of a new white convertible top, which can be viewed in the raised position in the photo gallery below. The car was equipped from the factory with tinted glass.
Red-painted 15″ steel wheels wear Chevrolet covers and whitewall tires, and a full-size spare is located in the trunk. The finish and trim can be viewed in a number of close-up photos in the gallery.
The interior was redone in 2015 and features a two-tone red and beige scheme on the front and rear bench seats, door panels, and rear side panels. Red carpeting, a white boot cover, and a red-painted dashboard with an aluminum insert also are equipped.
Instrumentation consists of a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for temperature and fuel level. An AM radio is mounted in the dashboard, and a clock is located in front of the passenger seat. The 5-digit odometer shows 53k miles, 500 of which reportedly were added by the seller.
