This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air sedan was refurbished and modified under previous ownership and was fitted with a 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The body is refinished in red over red and black vinyl upholstery. Additional equipment includes a single Edelbrock carburetor, electronic ignition, exhaust headers, side-exit exhaust, Flowmaster mufflers, 15″ American Racing wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, chrome bumpers, LED headlights, a Pioneer stereo, and a Hurst shifter. The seller purchased the car in 2019, and work since 2023 has included installing front lowering springs, adjustable control arms, and a CPP steering box. This Bel Air is now offered with partial service records, two sets of keys, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in red around 2009 and features a hood ornament, hooded LED headlights, dual chrome mirrors, side-exit exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers and trim. There is a chip in the paint on the left rear door and spots of corrosion on the front bumper.
The 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner. A Classic Performance Products power steering gearbox was installed in July 2024. The parking brake does not hold.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats reupholstered in red and black vinyl, and interior appointments include a Pioneer CD stereo and speakers, a locking glovebox, a Hurst shifter, a red dice shift knob, front lap belts, floor mats, and vent windows. A clutch linkage squeak is noted.
The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to an Ididit tilt steering column and sits ahead of a 110-mph speedometer, an inoperative coolant temperature gauge, and a fuel-level gauge. Additional instrumentation consists of an AutoMeter tachometer and centrally-mounted oil pressure and coolant temperature gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 27k miles, approximately 3,500 of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes that the steering wheel squeaks when turning.
The 350ci V8 was rebuilt and installed under previous ownership in 2010 and is said to have an Edelbrock Torker II camshaft. Additional equipment includes an Edelbrock carburetor, Patriot exhaust headers, and Flowmaster exhaust. Electronic ignition was added in 2020, and the carburetor was rebuilt the same year. The oil was changed in April 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. A 3.73:1 rear-end is said to be fitted. Rust is noted on the engine cross member.
