This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad was acquired by the current owner in 2013 as an in-progress project, and additional work was carried out between 2014 and 2022. Power is provided by an overbored 350ci V8 equipped with FiTech fuel injection, hypereutectic pistons, an Edelbrock intake manifold and cylinder heads, and a COMP Cams pushrod and lifters. Shifting is through a TCI four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes 3.70:1 gearing, 17″ Foose wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, Hooker headers, and a dual exhaust system with Borla mufflers. The car has been refinished in red with a white roof, and the interior has been re-trimmed in red and black and fitted with Vintage Air climate control, power windows, and a Custom Autosound head unit linked to aftermarket speakers. This Nomad is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with service records, refurbishment photos, a car cover, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car was refinished in red with a white roof as part of the refurbishment and equipped with a billet grille and a replacement firewall cover and fenders. The badging, body molding, and glass were replaced and the chrome trim was refinished.
Foose 17″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport tires. Cross-drilled and slotted rotors are paired with a Wilwood brake booster and calipers, and an E-Stopp emergency brake is equipped. Suspension components are said to consist of a C3 Corvette-sourced rear end with a fiberglass spring as well as front coilovers and a second-generation Camaro front clip, power steering, and sway bar.
The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in red vinyl with black inserts and silver piping, and the selling dealer notes that the carpets, headliner, and interior trim have also been replaced. Power windows, a Vintage Air climate control system, and a Custom Autosound Bluetooth head unit linked to aftermarket speakers are installed.
The aftermarket steering wheel is mounted on a tilting column. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 84 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 is equipped with a Cadillac batwing-style pinstriped air cleaner and chrome valve covers. The engine was reportedly bored .040″ over as part of the build and fitted with various components listed above.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed TCI Automotive 700R4 automatic transmission and rear end with 3.70:1 gears. The driveshaft was sourced from Driveshaft Specialist, and the dual exhaust system is equipped with an X-pipe and Borla Pro XS mufflers.
The VIN and trim tags have been removed, and a reproduction trim tag is currently attached to the car and pictured in the gallery. Decoding the trim tag reveals specific information about the car.
An album of photos from the refurbishment is included in the sale along with build records and manufacturer’s literature
