This 1965 Chevrolet Nova two-door sedan underwent a multi-year refurbishment completed by the seller’s father in 2013. Work involved a repaint in black, an interior refresh, adding four-wheel disc brakes, and installing an overbored 355ci V8 linked to a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. The engine is said to be equipped with a Reed camshaft as well as ported and polished cylinder heads, while the suspension has been modified with Lakewood drag shocks and traction bars. Further equipment includes 15″ Cragar wheels, Vintage Air climate control, a Hurst shifter, a dual side-exit exhaust system, a Be Cool aluminum radiator, an MSD 6A ignition system, and a Holley carburetor and Contender intake manifold. This modified Nova was listed on BaT in September 2023 and is offered again with spare parts, invoices, refurbishment photos, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The body was stripped and repainted in black as part of the aforementioned refurbishment by Merle Eschman at E&H Auto Body of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, according to the seller. Exterior details include a cowl induction hood, a polished grille, chrome bumpers, and quarter vent windows. The seller notes a crack in the paint on the hood and carbon build-up from the exhaust is visible on the rear of each rocker panel.
Chrome-finished 15″ Cragar Series 08/61 S/S wheels are mounted with 205/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The suspension has been modified with Classic Performance Products tubular steel upper control arms, Lakewood drag shocks, and traction bars. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The front and rear bench seats are trimmed in black vinyl and accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and carpets as well as a body-color steel dashboard, a floor-mounted Hurst shifter, Vintage Air climate control, lap belts, and Chevrolet-branded floor mats. The seller states that the front backrest has several holes.
According to the seller, the replacement V8 was overbored to displace 355ci and fitted with a Reed camshaft, 2.02″ intake valves, and ported and polished cylinder heads prior to installation. Additional equipment includes an MSD 6A ignition system, a Holley 750-CFM double pumper carburetor, a Holley Contender intake manifold, a PowerForce Plus Harmonic Damper, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator along with finned aluminum valve covers and a chrome air cleaner and radiator support. An oil change was most recently performed in 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. The car is equipped with a dual side-exit exhaust system, and the frame and underbody are coated in black bedliner material.
The chassis number 113115N183504 is consistent with a 1965 Chevrolet Nova two-door sedan built at the Norwood, Ohio, assembly facility with an inline-six engine.
