This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad was modified prior to the seller’s 2017 acquisition by installing a 383ci stroker V8 and a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. The car has been refinished in red and white over a red interior, and additional equipment includes 17″ Foose wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, a retro-style stereo, and aftermarket speakers. This Nomad is now offered with an Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in its current combination of red and white as part of the 2015 refurbishment and is equipped with a hood ornament, tinted glass, hooded headlights, chrome bumpers, dual exhaust outlets, and a fuel filler concealed above the left taillight.
Foose 17″ wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Assurance tires, and the car has power steering. Red brake calipers are fitted over cross-drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in pleated red cloth. Appointments include air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, a center storage console, aftermarket speakers and amplifier as well as a retro-style Bluetooth head unit with USB inputs. Bright trim adorns the red headliner.
The red and white steering wheel sits ahead of a Classic Instruments cluster housing a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 383ci stroker V8 was installed in 2015 and is equipped with a Carter AFB Competition Series carburetor and a Griffin radiator. The dual exhaust system has Flowmaster mufflers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission.
The Arizona title carries a “mileage in excess of the odometer mechanical limits” notation.
