This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu was acquired around eight years ago by the seller and has since been modified during a body-off refurbishment. Work included the installation of a 502ci GM V8 crate engine and a TCI StreetFighter four-speed automatic transmission, as well as a repaint in metallic blue and an interior overhaul. Additional features include Ridetech shocks, Holley electronic fuel injection, a nitrous oxide system, air conditioning, a Kenwood touchscreen stereo with Bluetooth, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, TMI bucket seats, and polished 20” Budnik wheels. This modified Chevelle is being offered with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The body was removed from the frame and repainted its current shade of metallic blue during the refurbishment. Exterior features include chrome Ring Brothers side-view mirrors and door handles, along with SS and 502-badging. Twin purge valves for the nitrous oxide injection are mounted under the windshield cowl.
Polished staggered-width Budnik wheels measure 19″ up front and 20″ out back, and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires sized 235/35 and 285/30 in the front and rear respectively. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood discs with cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. Suspension modifications include Ridetech shocks along with Hotchkis front and rear sway bars.
The cabin has reportedly been lined with Boom Mat sound deadening material and fitted with TMI front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black leather and Alcantara with a matching custom dashboard, door panels, carpets, and floor mats. Amenities include air conditioning, a Ring Brothers shifter, Alcantara headliner, center console with dual cupholders, Clayton Machine Works pedals and hardware, and a Kenwood touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth and satellite radio connectivity wired to Kicker speakers in the rear parcel shelf.
A MOMO three-spoke steering wheel with an SS-branded center cap is mounted to an Ididit tilt steering column and sits ahead of Dakota Digital instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, configurable display, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer was reset during the build and shows approximately 1,200 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 502ci GM V8 crate engine features Brodix cylinder heads as well as Holley Terminator electronic fuel injection. The car has reportedly been re-wired, the fuel tank, pump, and lines are said to have been replaced, and additional features include MSD ignition, an aluminum Entropy radiator with dual electric fans, Voodoo hydraulic roller camshaft, Morel lifters, and a NOS nitrous oxide injection system with two bottles mounted in the trunk. An oil change was recently performed and the distributor cap replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TCI StreetFighter four-speed shiftable automatic transmission and Moser 12-bolt differential with 3.73:1 gearing. The car features an American Racing exhaust system. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
